General view - 8th Avenue - Northeast.
80 Eighth Avenue, at the N.E. corner of West 14th
Street (County Trust Co. Building) general view northeastward.
A set of three views photographed in the direction of
Madison Square and overlooking the zone between 14th and 23rd Streets. At that point appear the 'New York Life and the Metropolitan
Buildings.
Through the foreground runs Seventh Avenue, and the prominent New York Telephone Co. Building (No. 206 West 18th Street) is to the west of same. The side of this structure seen by the viewer
is on West 17th Street.
To the right, and directly on Seventh Avenue, are two
tall structures. The first is a 12 story loft building, No. 106-110 Seventh Avenue (between 16th and 17th Streets), and the second, a new 18 story apartment house at the S.W. corner of West 18th Street. This latter structure is on the former site of the 3-story Arnold Constable and Co. stable (92-98 Seventh Avenue). In the near future another 18 story apartment will separate these buildings. This will be at the N.W. corner of 16th Street and
abut the aforementioned loft.
In the distant background appears (view 3) the R. C. A., 10 East 40th Street, Lincoln, Chanin and Chrysler Buildings.
