Fifth Ave., east side, at East 23rd Street. The view shows the New York Life Insurance Company Building, occupying the site of the old Madieon Square Garden. In the foreground, appears Madison Square Park, with the flag pole bearing the "Eternal Light"; lit in commemoration of the supreme sacrifice of the American Expeditionary Forces in France.
