Aerial view of Cadman Plaza area of Downtown Brooklyn with plaza in center, many parked and two moving automobiles, several pedestrians, subway on elevated tracks on left, several commercial, office, and residential buildings and portion of Brooklyn Bridge in background. Caption: "Out of the wreckage of ugly old buildings at the approach to Brooklyn Bridge, the new plaza begins to show its face. The era [sic] in the foreground, bordered by Washington St. and Fulton St. is completed but for a few touches of gardening. Workmen proceed in the background to lift the face of another section of the plaza. Construction and landscape work are ahead of schedule."
