Newtown - Cooper Avenue - Glendale
Cooper Avenue - Looking SW toward the LIRR grade crossing near 75th St. and 76th St. from about where 78th street is now located. The large house in the distance (now 74-02 to 74-10 Cooper Ave.), was the Hillen's Hotel and Park (aka Glendale Hotel, later Doty's Tavern), originally it was late 18th Century farmhouse and home of Nicholas Wyckoff of Dry Harbor (Glendale - not Nicholas Wyckoff of Bushwick). The building was razed 1970. The Cooper Avenue underpass was later built to eliminate the grade crossing.
