Manhattan: 9th Avenue - 18th Street (West)

West 18th Street, at, adjoining and east of the N.E. corner of Ninth Avenue (elevated line thereon) showing prominently Textile High extending thru the block to 19th Street. Upon this site formerly stood P.S. 56. The photographer is viewing northeastward from a roof top at the S.W. corner. The clearance at the right is to be improved with a modern 6 story apartment house (see N.Y. Times of May 9, 1938).
