Historic church afire

Facade of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary/St. Stephen Church, Hicks Street and Summit Street being damaged by fire; also: firemen, right, climbing ladder extending from fire truck to roof, other fire trucks and equipment, left, and street lights and many spectators in foreground. Caption: "Historic church afire--Searing flames and mushrooming smoke attracted attention from miles away on Jan. 10 while firemen battled a five-alarm blaze which left a roofless, burned-out skeleton of the Church of the Scared hearts of Jesus and Mary and St. Stephen's at Hicks and Summit Sts. Fund-raising drives were immediately initiated to rebuild the 75-year-old structure."
