Newtown - De La Corte Inn (Della Corte Inn) - Corona

De La Corte Inn (Della Corte Inn) - On Mill Creek, on the east side of Colonial Ave. between the present Waldron St. and Van Doren St. (part of the Long Island Expressway interchange today). John Heeg built the older part (far right) facing Mill Creek (aka Horse Brook) in 1883, he was succeeded as proprietor by Arthur Wagner in 1897, then William Geier and finally De La Corte. The small single story frame building was the "Della Corte Quick Lunch Counter". The older building was rebuilt in Oct. 1930.
