Church, Manhattan Avenue opposite Milton Street, Greenpoint. first mass celebrated in Mr. Rider's house one Sunday morning in 1853. the plot of land where the present church stands was purchased in 1865, and on August 24, 1873, the cornerstone of the new building was laid. Dedication took place on June 13, 1874. Rev. John F. Cherry, Pastor."
