Abraham Remsen House

Newtown - Remsen House - Rego Park

Remsen House - The north end of the Abraham Remsen House, built 1700 (at right) with its later single story addition. To the left (behind the Tree) is the summer kitchen, probably erected during the late 18th or early 19th Century. The stones at right in the foreground formed a wall along the road. The house was located on the east side of Trotting Course Lane opposite Cooper Ave., about 400 feet north of Metropolitan Ave., and was torn down by August 1925.
