Sheridan Theatre on Greenwich Avenue: Eighth Avenue Line (IND)

Survey photograph of theatre at Greenwich Avenue and West 11th Street in the path of the Eighth Avenue Line (IND). Showing theatre with workers on top of marquee with ladders below, street, sidewalk, curb, pedestrian, and automobiles. The Sheridan Theatre was opened in 1921 and taken over by Loew's the same month this photograph was taken, December 1926. The Theatre closed in 1969. Original photographic logbook notation reads: Camera 3 feet west of West Curb Greenwich Avenue. 40 feet north of north house line West 11th Street. Looking northeast and showing southerly half of Greenwich Avenue face of the Sheridan Theatre.
