Newtown - Jeromus Vanderveer House - Forest Hills
Jeromus Vanderveer House - old residence (aka Weeden House). North side of Metropolitan Ave. about 50 feet west of Herrick Ave. (70th Ave.). The Vanderveer's owned this house, but lived in a new house built in 1850 on south side of Metropolitan Ave. Jeromus Vanderveer had 60 Acres in Middle Village in 1871 (Now Glendale & Forest Hills in part), and then bought more land, his son Charles farmed Here for many years before moving to Hollis. The Weeden's were tenets and occupied from 1873 - 1922, possibly H. Randall was here 1860. [QPL print is missing. Copy of print stamped "Historical Survey of Long Island - Collection of Vincent F.
