Manhattan: Madison Avenue - 23rd Street (East)

Madison Avenue, east side (buildings thereupon), from E. 23rd to 24th Streets as viewed across a corner of Madison Square, from Fifth Avenue. The two office buildings shown are units of the Metropolitan Insurance Co; the larger being the home office prior to tower addition. This feature was constructed on the corner site where the spired Madison Square Presbyterian Church (1854-1906) stands. The domed structure on the opposite corner (N.E. of 24th Street) is being constructed for this congregation and in 1928 will move way for additional offices for the Metropolitan Insurance Co.
