Caption: "It's first day of winter--And Brooklyn's Albert Wetzler, winter vacationing at Grossinger's, celebrates by breaking through the ice for an invigorating (English translation cold) swim in the lake. Skater Maureen Millerick pauses in her skating and shivers. Mr. W. belongs to the Polar Bear Club, whose members regularly perform winter swimming rites at Coney Island."
