Newtown - William Sackett House - Woodside

William Sackett House - Looking north along 63rd St. from Queens Blvd. In the distance about 400 feet north, is the William Sackett Mansion (Alias Sackett-Lawrence House). The yellow house facing south, was built in 1836. It was owned by Sackett prior to 1850, then A.R. Lawrence in 1852, and perhaps C. Meyers in 1860. This area was laid out as Lawrenceville in 1853, and was located just north of what was then Winfield. Photo taken March 1925.
