Caption: "Ving Merlin is the leader of a group of girl violinists which is touring the country and is also an alumnus of the Navy Yard Boys Club. He visited his alma mater recently and was presented with a citation by Anthony Gibson and Victor Igneri. The clubhouse is at 195 York St. The citation was for 'being an inspiring example to underprivileged youngsters who are ambitious to get ahead.'".
