Fourth Avenue, east side and E. 20th Street. The first Uniterian Church in New York City. The Society was incorporated in 1839 as the First Congregational Church of New York, from the outcome of serving conducted by William Hilery Channing.

Edward Everett preached at the dedication services of this church in Chambers Street 1820.
