No 7 Stats Street was erected prior to 1800 and came into the possession of Moses Rogers about that time. William Bayard owned same subsequently. For a short while it was the property of Robert P. Getty, who became the first Mayor of Yonkers. Other ocoupants were A. Gardener, and G. Howland (in 1830), after which it was used by the Federal Gov't. during the Civil War for military purposes. The Pilot Commission were the last occupants prior to the pcrchase by the present tenents in 1885. A legend infers that the low brick addition back of the Mission is the oldest slave building left. A desoriptive account will be found in the column, "Vbout New York" by Meyer Berger. This appeared in the New York Times of April 22,1949,
