Lafayette Street, east side, south from but not including Franklin, to and including Leonard Streets. Also shown is Leonard Street, north side, east from Lafayette, to and including Centre Streets. This view shows the City Prison, known as "The Tomba" which name arose from its gloomy associations. Built in 1840.
