Broken wall, missing desk

Caption: "Broken wall, missing desk--They don't keep Elizabeth Noweth, 16, of 91 Stockholm St., [student at Bushwick High School, 400 Irving Avenue,] from copying her chemistry notes. She wears her coat through a five-hour school day because wardrobes are unusable, writes on her lap for want of a better desk. Hole in wall at her right does not lend to academic atmosphere."
